Afghan Hope For Tomorrow

About US

Afghan Hope for Tomorrow sponsors Afghan students to attend school to pursue theireducation. Many of the Afghan boys and girls work on the streets of Kabul and many other cities in Afghanistan, instead of attending school. These Afghan children work because they must provide not only for themselves, but for their families as well.

Most of these children are too young to even leave their homes by themselves, but they are sent by their families to bring food to the table. While many of them beg on the streets, some sell bread, cigarettes, candy and more.  AHFT aims to sponsor these students, and to provide them food and clothes so they can attend school rather than beg or work on the streets.

Challenge

Many of the Afghan families face financial challenges and are unable to even provide the basic needs for themselves and their children. Many children have lost their fathers in the war and have no provider. Afghan women are unable to work as they are not allowed by the current Taliban government. These complex situations in the country leave many families vulnerable so they must send their young sons and daughters to bring food to the table, rather than admitting to

schools.

Solution

Sponsorships help needy school students cover the cost of food and clothes, enabling them to attend a school. The funds help pay for living expenses, including food and clothes. This aid brings the opportunity of education to students who are eager to learn and to be productive members of their society.

Long-Term Impact

Many families live in poor economic circumstances and they cannot afford education for their children. A sponsorship changes the course of an Afghan student's life. By providing students with the funds necessary to survive so they can attend school, you are giving them opportunity and a way to a better life, after many of them have experienced tremendous challenges in their lives. Education is the way to improving lives and rebuilding communities and to a sustainable peace in Afghanistan.
